Issue:  When attempting to run a new version of the Windows Desktop app, a blue warning popup may appear with the following message:

"Windows protected your PC: Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk"

This can occur immediately after a new app update is released, and is related to the way Microsoft protects your PC against new, suspicious programs it has not yet reviewed.

Step 1: To bypass this message, click the "More Info" link on the popup to review additional information about the app.

Step 2: Verify that the publisher listed is Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc.

If so, click the "Run Anyways" button to continue. You should not receive this prompt again.

Note: In the event that the publisher listed is not a WarnerMedia affiliated company, please uninstall / remove the app and re-download the app from our app download page.
